Moderation Application.

Welcome to the Moderation Application thread. This is for those interested in becoming a moderator.

Now before you apply, make sure you meet the following criteria.

1] You should not apply if you only want a mod tag.
2] You should use the correct grammar and puctuation so people understand you. Wink

3] You must be helpful and friendly. Nobody likes a rude mod.
4] You must have good control over situations so they don't become hostile.
5] You must not ban any members just because you don't like them.
6] You must not abuse your powers. If you do, then you will be removed from being a mod.
7] You should know the rules and act upon what they say. Use punishments based on what it says in that.
(If you are unsure of what the punishment is, just PM an admin.)
8] You should know where everything is and where everything should be.
9] You must respect Admins and other moderators. Also show members respect.
10] You must not be influenced or biased. Keep an open mind on things. This way you will handle things more easily.
11] YOU MUST KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT! AND MUST KNOW ABOUT THE TOPIC YOU ARE
(I.E you must know all about a boards topic if you want to moderate that board)
12] You must be fluent in English. Most of our users speak English and it would make no sense to have a moderator who will not understand what anyone is saying. It doesn't matter if English is your first, second or third language, aslong as you speak and understand it.

You must remain completely honest as this will enable us to pick the most suited moderator for the section. There is no point lieing. You will only make it harder on yourself.

Some final things.

Just because you have a higher post count will not raise your chances of becoming a mod.
Just because you have a higher karma/rep will not raise your chances.
Just because you have been nominated MAY not raise your chances.
Just because you have been a member longer will not raise your chance. Even if you were the first member to sign up and was the only member to apply, we would extend the deadline. This is to make sure that moderation powers are not given out by default. We would like a variety to apply for the post.

ONE FINAL THING!

On recieving your application, we will choose three nominees. These few will become TEMP MODS! This means that you will be temporary. After a two week trial, we will select the moderator which has performed the best in keeping the forum in working order.

ALL MODERATION ACTIONS ARE LOGGED, SO WE KNOW!
